How to sign a PDF online
- Upload your PDF — Drop the PDF file you need to sign. The file is loaded in your browser and never uploaded to a server.
- Create your signature — Draw a signature with your mouse or touchpad, or upload a PNG/JPG image of an existing signature.
- Place and resize — Click on the page where you want the signature to appear. Drag to reposition or use the size controls to resize.
- Download the signed PDF — Click Save to render the signed PDF and download it. The original file remains untouched on your device.

Is it safe to sign a PDF online with PDFMint?

Are signatures created with PDFMint legally binding?
Signatures created with PDFMint are visually identical to a handwritten signature on paper and are accepted in most jurisdictions for everyday agreements (contracts, NDAs, internal approvals) under frameworks such as the US ESIGN Act, EU eIDAS simple electronic signatures, and Japan's Electronic Signature Act. For documents that require qualified electronic signatures (QES), notarization, real-estate transfers or wills, please use a regulated trust service provider in your country.
What is the difference from a digital signature (PAdES / certificate-based)?
This tool creates a visual electronic signature by placing a signature image onto the PDF. A digital signature (PAdES) uses an X.509 certificate and PKI to embed a cryptographic hash into the PDF, enabling tamper detection and signer authentication. If you need a certificate-based digital signature, use a regulated trust service provider or corporate PKI with compatible signing software.
Can I sign a PDF on multiple pages or place several signatures?
Yes. You can navigate between pages using the page controls and place as many signatures as you need. Each placed signature can be moved or resized independently before you save the final PDF.
